Sharing the Wealth—Displaying your Collections

I am a firm believer that collections need to be shared. You choose items to collect because they have meaning to you, so they are naturally a window into who you are. Giving them their proper space will not only bring you pleasure, but will make your space more authentically you!

A colorful collection of pottery can make a beautiful display with a few other items brought in to break it up a bit. (Photo by Timothy Bell)

A single Italian alabaster birdbath is beautiful on it’s own, but when displayed en masse, they become something totally different.

Seascapes are always a favorite with me and this display is no exception. The caption of this photo says it all…”She went on olden-day sailing ships with Joseph Conrad...She travelled all over the world while sitting in her little room in an English village.” - Roald Dahl, Matilda (Inspo via M. I love the way Sharon Randall displays her majolica collection with embellishments that change with the seasons.

Even behind glass, these Staffordshire pieces make a statement.

And no one displays a collection like Lauren Sakalarios does with her milk glass. (Inspo via Kelly Elko)

So don’t hide away your collections—give them their due. Or if you are ready to start a new collection, visit our online store or check out one of our estate sales for some ideas.
